Will The Wash sting or irritate?

It's pH-balanced and fragrance-free — most people find it gentler than their old cleanser. If you're switching from a harsh face wash, give it a week.

Can I use this morning and night?

Yes. That's the intent. Morning before Shield, evening before Fix.

Does it foam?

Gently. Not the squeaky-clean foam that strips your skin — more of a soft lather. That's intentional.

Will this work for my skin type?

Yes — pH-balanced and fragrance-free, gentle enough for morning and night across skin types. If your skin reacts easily to new products, patch test 24 hours first.

How to use

Cleanse twice.
Never skip.

Morning

  1. Wet face with lukewarm water.
  2. Pump once onto fingertips and work into a gentle lather.
  3. Massage across face and neck for 60 seconds.
  4. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry.
  5. Apply The Shield at least 15–20 minutes before going outdoors.

The Wash contains PHA — a mild exfoliant that increases UV sensitivity. SPF after every morning use is non-negotiable.

Evening

  1. Wet face with lukewarm water.
  2. Pump once and massage for 60–90 seconds — The Wash removes sunscreen residue, sebum, and surface pigment in one pass.
  3. Rinse thoroughly. No double-cleanse needed.
  4. Pat dry, then apply The Fix if using the full system.

The evening cleanse preps skin for The Fix's actives to work overnight. Don't skip it, even on days you didn't wear sunscreen.

Most cleansers fix
one thing by breaking another.

Removing tan residue and sebum while keeping your barrier intact requires a specific approach. Here's what The Wash does differently.

Harsh surfactants raise your skin's pH

Healthy skin has a pH of 4.5–5.5. Most conventional cleansers — including many marketed as gentle — push it above 7. A disrupted acid mantle lets bacteria in, keeps moisture out, and inflames the skin you're trying to repair.

A stripped barrier works against repair

When the skin barrier is compromised, transepidermal water loss rises, redness worsens, and the actives in a correcting serum penetrate less predictably. You cannot repair tan on a disrupted foundation.

PHA exfoliation removes without abrasion

Polyhydroxy acids dissolve the bonds between dead, pigment-carrying cells rather than physically scrubbing them away. Surface pigment clears on its own schedule — accelerated, without mechanical damage or the sensitivity of AHAs.

Ceramide + squalane rebuild what cleansing depletes

The Wash replenishes skin-identical lipids in the same step as it removes impurities. The net effect is a barrier that is cleaner and more intact after washing than before — so The Fix's actives land on skin that is ready for them.

Why PROOFED

Not all face washes
are the same.

Most de-tan face washes clear surface colour and stop there. The Wash exfoliates at the cellular level, rebuilds the barrier in the same step, and preps skin for the actives that follow.
